Challenges Facing The Pre- Hospital Care.

It is a sad reality when the backbone of proper health care in Kenya is highly neglected ,which is PRE HOSPITAL CARE .It has taken many years where people still do not understand our role as first res-ponders.How will the health care improve? Yet the providers of this services are not appreciated .

CHALLENGES.
A primary challenge facing the prehospital system is the acquisition, allocation, application, and coordination of assets and resources. This includes recruitment, retention, training, and education of emergency medical services (EMS) human resources. Another challenge for response planning in rural ares in is risk analysis, which assesses the likelihood of the occurrence and subsequent consequences of an event, and then defines the metrics or markers on which a successful preparedness strategy hinges. Other challenges include:

Communications-I wish that we one call centre could be put in place so as to control the emergency calls that arise.In Kenya the only county that has embraced the need of having a call centre is the County Government of Kiambu which was opened on May 11th ,2018 by the Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kanini Kariuki.The call centre has really been of help to the residents of Kiambu county especially those in the interior areas since the county has provided a Toll free Number 0800722382 .If all counties could appreciate having a call centre could improve the Pre hospital care.I appreciate E plus Kenya ,AAR and St john ambulance Kenya for also having call centre .a centralized call centre should put in place to improve the response of the firefighters , hospitals,Kenya Police and Emergency Medical Technicians .

Funding- There is no proper funding in the Pre Hospital Care ,no fund has been put in place to help boost the services been provided and also improve the administration of Pre Hospital care.

Leadership (someone who can work their way through the political process to secure the necessary support and resources),
Physician participation or lack thereof (e.g., in medical direction at the scene or hospital),
Sustaining commitment to disaster preparedness and planning (which is most intense following a disaster, and wanes over time),
Political and cultural landscapes (where disaster preparedness fits as a priority),
Existing statutes, and
Contingency planning.

There is a lot madness by our road users who don't give way to the fire trucks and ambulances assuming there is no true emergency ,therefore the crew really struggles to manovouer thru the the traffic hence causes delay and early response from the scene to the receiving facility

The providers of Emergency Medical Services were very disappointment when the Ministry of health failed to turn up after along awaited day and a fight that has been fought for many years to have the EMERGENCY CARE POLICY 2018-2030 launched .It was a historic event that was to improve how the Pre Hospital care was delivered but unfortunately it went sour.

We call upon all stake holders and the citizens to improve our Pre Hospital and also this will help improve the response of Emergency Medical Service.

WORLD AIDS DAY.

World aids day is celebrated every year all over the world on 1 st of December to raise the public awareness about AIDS (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome). AIDS is a pandemic disease caused due to the infection of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The day is celebrated by the government organizations, NGOs, civil society and other health officials by organizing the speeches or forums discussion related to the AIDS.
